Dementia Friends is a global movement that is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. By helping everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects families, each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia. In this one hour session you will learn what dementia is, what it may be like to live with the disease, and tips for communicating with people living with dementia.

Dementia has impacts on the individual's and family's emotional, physical, and financial well-being. Social workers, counselors, and marriage and family therapists may provide education, information and support, counseling and linkages to community resources for individuals and families to help them understand, manage and cope when living with dementia. This program provides information, effective strategies and education in order to address issues related to living with or caring for someone who has dementia to promote overall well-being and quality of life
