Weatherization Programs, Minor HOme Repair Loans

• Emergency Home Repair Loans: For unexpected home repairs. Maximum loan amount of $3,000. NHS offers fewer closing costs & an application fee of only $35. The term of the loan can vary from 3-5 years depending on your needs.
• Home, Sweet Home Improvement Loan: For homeowners within the city of Toledo, flexible lending programs offer below-market interest rates, low monthly payments, flexible credit requirements & various loan terms depending on your needs. Limited funds available.
• Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP): The HWAP is one of Ohio’s energy-efficiency programs available to help low-income residents use less energy while increasing the comfort of their homes. The program is available to both homeowners & renters. A home inspection is completed to determine the most effective improvements for your home. Services may include: safety inspection; tune-up/repair of heating units; insulation of attics, sidewalls & floors; insulation of heating ducts & water tanks; reduction of air leakage.
• Toledo Edison Community Connections: The Toledo Edison program partners with either the HWAP or Warm Choice program to include the metering & possible replacement of refrigerators. It also includes replacing incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. Income Restrictions: To be eligible, a household must have a total income during the preceding 12 months of equal or less than 150% of the federal poverty guidelines.
• Warm Choice Program: Available to households participating in PIPP or HEAP programs with an active Columbia account. This program is also available to homeowners or renters. A home inspection is completed to determine the most effective improvements for your home. Services may include: safety inspection; tune-up/repair of heating units &/or stoves; insulation of attics, sidewalls & floors; insulation of heating ducts & water tanks; reduction of air leakage from major sources.
