Senior Brokering Program is to help our Senior population to remain independent. The Senior Brokering Program assists Lucas County Seniors ate 60 or older as well as the permanently disabled. Services include home visits, help with forms and paperwork, nutrition, medical, home maintenance, appliances, utilities and more. Contact a Senior Broker at 419-242-7304, extension 1454.

Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) Summer Crisis Program is available. Income eligible persons will be eligible for up to $500 dollars toward their electric bill. Please call to fill out an application. Information needed includes; current light and gas bill, proof of income, ID and SS card.

Senior Services Worker will assist senior consumers with HEAP and PIPP applications by office appointment or home visit. Referrals are accepted from professional staff or directly from consumer or caregiver. Items needed for application process include: utility bills which include watt usage, photo id, and income verification for 13 weeks. Consumers who qualify for PIPP may also be able to obtain needed appliances through this program. Air conditioners are available in summer months for persons that qualify for energy assistance. Furnace repair or replacement is available for persons that qualify for energy assistance. Water heater repair or replacement is also available. Pathway will provide temporary portable heaters in winter months for emergency situations where furnace is out.

Community Connection Program: Lucas County residents may be eligible for free replacement light bulbs, refrigerators, and stand alone freezers. Must meet 200% household income guidelines. Appliances must be in the home, over 5 years old, and be tested for energy consumption. Call Sheila Roberts X1161.

Persons that are not age 60 and over may apply for energy assistance and obtain information regarding other programs by contacting Pathway at their general number.

Pathway's mission is to develop and operate programs to advocate for low-income and moderate income individuals and families to assist them in achieving self-sufficiency.

Pathway has long established partnerships in Lucas County with the belief that partnering provides the community customer's a one-stop delivery system in which an individual can receive a vast array of information, services and referrals.

The Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program is designed to allow homeowners with 80% or less of the Area Median Income to obtain money to bring their homes up to code. The aid comes in the form of a deferred payment loan with a 0% interest rate (payable upon change of home ownership). Homeowners must have lived in their home for at least one year, have home insurance, and property taxes and mortgage payments that are up to date. At the time of your appointment, you must have all of the following:
*Documentation of income for the last 13 weeks for all adults age 18 of age and older
* A notarized statement of zero income for all adults not attending the interview
* a picture I.D. for all adults age 18 and older
* Social Security numbers for all members of the household
* an itemized statement or both current utility bills from First Energy and Columbia Gas in the applicant's name
* A medical statement from the doctor stating that you or someone in the household has a respiratory condition.
