The Sight Center of Northwest Ohio, a not-for-profit 501 (C)(3) organization, has a distinguished history of service to persons throughout Northwest Ohio who are blind or visually impaired. Founded in 1923 as The Toledo Society for the Blind by members of the Lions Club, the Community Chest and the Chamber of Commerce, the organization has not strayed from its original commitment: that all individuals who are blind or visually impaired should have the opportunity to live life with dignity and self respect. The Sight Center mission is, "to enrich the lives of individuals with vision loss by providing personalized services." The Sight Center offers comprehensive low vision services to people of all ages who are experiencing a vision loss that cannot be addressed in a primary care setting. We offer programs and services which enable individuals who are sight-impaired to adapt to their vision independently and enjoy the things in life which provide meaning and substance.
