Founded in 1923 as The Toledo Society for the Blind, The Sight Center of Northwest Ohio, a not-for-profit 501 (C)(3) organization has a distinguished history of helping people of all ages, work, learn, play and live independently with permanent vision loss.
The Sight Center’s service area includes 18 counties in Northwest Ohio, as well as parts of Central Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The Sight Center offers comprehensive low-vision services to people experiencing vision loss that cannot be addressed in a primary care setting. The Sight Center is changing lives every day with its unique blend of programs and services ranging from Low Vision Clinics in Toledo, Defiance, Fremont, and Findlay to high-tech assistive devices, daily living adaptations, home safety enhancements, white cane training, caregiver support, and more!
The Sight Center does not offer primary eye care, free vision examinations, or regular prescription eyeglass fittings. Instead, they offer specialized vision rehabilitation services so that people with low vision can make the best use of their remaining vision and people who are blind can continue to live independently.”
