New Home Development currently offers two different housing programs. This agency owns nearly 50 housing units throughout the four county area. This agency rents these housing units to persons recovering from a mental illness. Rent is determined by income and program.
This agency also administers the HAP program. This is a rent subsidy program where persons can rent from landlords other than New Home Development. Rent responsibility is based on 40% of the household income.
This agency also manages Developmental Disabilities housing for Defiance County. Please call for additional information. New Home is a contract agency of the Four County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental counseling to persons requesting assistance. Future projects include additional rental units to serve adult mental health consumers, senior subsidized housing and home ownership. New Home no longer provides assistance for emergency home repairs.
