Appointments are required. Arrangements for home visits can be made with Service Officers.
Services provided by the Lucas County Veterans Service Commission;
Temporary Emergency Financial Assistance - The Lucas County Veterans Service emergency funds for necessities such as housing or utilities. Assistance can be given immediately to eligible veterans with proper documents and demonstrated need. Funds are provided on a short-term basis until permanent solutions can be found.
Transportation - can be arranged to area VA hospitals for those with scheduled appointments.
Death Benefits - Burial expenses and cemetery plots are provided for qualified Veterans. The Lucas County Veterans Service Office can advise widows or dependents on eligibility for other benefits such as; VA burial benefits, American flags, plot allowances, and pensions.
Veterans Administration Application Assistance - Veterans and their dependents who need help preparing and filing applications for VA benefits can contact the Lucas County Veterans Service Office for assistance.
