Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO) and Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE) are non-profit regional law firms that provide high-quality legal assistance in civil matters to help eligible low-income individuals and groups in Western Ohio achieve self-reliance, economic opportunity and equal justice.
All referral must go through the main line then get referred to the correct office. This includes legal, estate and POA.
Legal services include real estate matters-contract probate, home repair issues-second mortgages, family law issues-divorce, APS referrals, wills, POA, advance directives and title transfer outside of probate. Additionally, legal aid continues with calls regarding Housing landlord-tenant issues, Medicaid spend down-look back period, benefits-food stamps, Medicaid Expansion.
