Provides tax-exemption services.
Senior citizens and the disabled can get relief in the form of a tax break on their property taxes. This tax credit, called the "Homestead tax-exemption," is available to both senior citizens and those who are totally and permanently disabled, and veterans declared 100% disabled due to service connected disability. Applications for the Homestead Tax Exemption are available beginning in January each year and are due by the first Monday in June. They will receive renewal forms in the mail before the end of March.

To qualify for the Homestead Tax Exemption, an applicant must:
*Be 65 years of age or older in current year or totally and permanently disabled at any age, or a veteran declared 100% disabled due to service connected disability.
*Own and occupy the home or mobile home or have ownership interest (i.e., life estate, land contract, etc.) as of current tax year.
*New applicants must have an Adjusted Gross Income of $31,500 or less (as reported on line 3 of Ohio income tax return).. Household income includes the income of applicant and applicant's spouse. The income test does not apply to applicants filing as a veteran declared 100% disabled due to service connected disability.
