Hearing Loss Association of America is the nation's leading advocacy and membership organization for people with hearing loss.

The mission of HLAA is to open the world of communication to people with hearing loss by providing information, education, support and advocacy.

EDUCATION
*Provide information on many aspects of hearing loss from technological and medical advances to coping strategies.
*Helps to inform consumers as to options available and to help them make the best decisions.

ADVOCACY
*Advocate for communication access in all public areas.
*Promotes new technology, research and legislation.
*Encourage and participate in research to improve hearing aids, assistive listening devices and other technology.
*Push for research on understanding causes of hearing loss.
*Testify before federal, state and local legislative bodies on issues concerning people with hearing loss.

SELF-HELP
*Promotes self-confidence and empowerment
*Develop options and open doors.
*Support in setting up local support groups
