Friendly Center serves residents in zip codes 43604, 43608, and 43611.

For the Feed Your Neighbor program, Bread program, Government Commodities, Emergency Food, Senior Nutrition program, Tammy's Closet, Case Management Services, and Vision Care Outreach, consumer must provide proof of the following: 1. picture ID 2. current address (rent receipt, utility bill, etc) 3. all people residing in the household (ID, Social Security card, or medical card) 4. All household Income.

Information and Referral - Friendly Center Service Coordinators are familiar with most human service agencies in Lucas County.

Case Management Services- This service is a one-on-one program that assists families in locating and accessing community resources, services, and activities to improve family strength, problem solving skills, and empowering individuals. Contact Sheila Wheeler ext. 104 for more information.

Service Coordinator - Families, children and individuals desiring to make positive changes in their lives are encouraged to make an appointment with a Friendly Center Service Coordinator to develop a case plan.

Domestic Violence Survivors Group - Learn to be a stronger survivor and also all of the legal terminology necessary to move through the system.

Counseling - A therapist from Lutheran Social Services is available to meet with you for individual or family therapy.

Beginning Computer classes - Learn how to use a computer, software and surf the internet. Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays over six weeks (twelve sessions) and cover the basics.

Vision Care Outreach Program - A free eye exam and glasses are available for low income individuals who have no medical/vision insurance. Applicants must provide proper I.D., proof of address, and all household income. Call Sheila for info and to schedule an appointment.

Food Pantry - Emergency food and toiletries available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday morning from 9:00am till 11:30am (except the 2nd Wednesday of each month.) Program can be used twice per year.

Bread Program - Bread and Sweets are offered every Tuesday in the gymnasium at Friendly Center. Sign up begins at 8:30am. Bread is given out at 10:00am on a first come, first serve basis.

Tammy's Closet - Clothing is provided at a cost of 20 cents per item or $2.00 per grocery-sized bag on Tuesdays from 9am-1pm and Thursdays from 3pm-6pm. Free clothing is available by appointment only.

Feed You Neighbor (FYN) (Salem Lutheran, 43604 and 43611) - Referral cards filled out at the Friendly Center and then taken to Salem Lutheran Church, 1127 N. Huron St. to receive a box of food. Offered every Friday morning from 8:45am- 10:45am. No food baskets given after 11:00am. This service available one time per month. You must bring proof of address and a picture ID. Those who live in 43608 should ask for the FYN site nearest to them.

Ceramics - Learn a hobby while having fun and meeting friends. No experience required.

Government Commodities- Available second Wednesday of every month in the gymnasium. Sign in starts at 8:30am. Food Distribution begins at 10:00am and is generally completed by 10:45am. Must have photo ID, proof of income, and address.

Athletics- We offer a variety of athletic activities. Our teams are generally co-ed and are for varying age groups.

Summer Enrichment Program- 8 weeks of summer learning and fun for your K-6th grade child. Starts in June. All participants must have completed kindergarten.

After School/ Tutoring- boys and girls from kindergarten to 8th grade are welcome to bring homework, participate in games, snacks and occasional field trips. We also provide group and individual tutoring for those in need.

Project Success- provides service coordination for youth in grades 4-8 attending Lagrange, Riverside, and Leverette schools. Connects students and thier families to services that assist thier academic success.

Parent Project- provides group learning activities over 10-16 sessions that give parents the skills and confidence they need to address problem behaviors in their adolescent children.

Loving Solutions- Provides groups learning activities through a seven session curriculum to give parents of children ages 5-10 the skills needed to address problem behaviors they experience with their children.
