Kinship - Wellness Initiative for Senior Education (WISE) Workshop Series

Are you currently a grandparent, family relative, or close family friend raising children when the biological parents are unable or unwilling to do so? Are you 55 years of age or better? Do you live in Lucas County? If so, our 6-session evidence-based WISE series is perfect for you.
~ Learn about the aging process and how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
~ Celebrate this exciting stage of life and all the benefits that come with it.
~ Discuss risk factors and behaviors you should avoid in order to stay healthy.
~ Examine how alcohol, prescription medications and over-the-counter medications affect seniors differently and how you can avoid problems.
~ Learn how to use simple tools to help you feel more empowered about your health and the healthcare you receive.
This program is made possible through a collaboration between the AOoA Kinship Navigator Program and Harbor. A commitment to attend a minimum of 4 out of the 6 sessions is required upon signing up. Sessions are on Wednesdays and Fridays, October 9th, 11th, 16th, 18th, 23rd, and 25th, 2024, from 9:30am to 11:30am. First time participants meeting the attendance requirements can earn a $50.00 Kroger gift card provided by Harbor.
