Kinship Navigator Program- Evidence-Based Wellness Initiative for Senior Education (WISE) Workshop (Session 2 of 6)

This 6-session evidence-based workshop series is for grandparents, relatives, or family friends ages 55 and up who are raising children with no biological parents in the home. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all 6 sessions. Participants who attend 4 out of 6 sessions will receive a $50 Kroger gift card provided by Harbor. This is an in-person workshop. A virtual attendance option is available on a case-by-case basis for extenuating circumstances. Cab transportation is available. Sorry, no childcare for this event. Must be enrolled in the AOoA Kinship Navigator Program to register. If you are a kinship caregiver age 55 and over, we invite you to attend the WISE workshop. This evidence-based workshop is facilitated by certified workshop leader, Charlene Toska, Senior Prevention Education Provider at Harbor.

Through this series, caregivers will learn through 6 lessons that cover a wide range of topics. Join us for this fun program where you will meet new people and:

• Learn about the aging process and how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
• Celebrate this exciting stage of life and all the benefits that come with it.
• Discuss risk factors and behaviors you should avoid to stay healthy.
• Examine how alcohol, prescription medications, and over-the-counter medications affect seniors differently and how you can avoid problems.
• Learn how to use simple tools to help you feel more empowered about your health and the healthcare you receive.
