Program Description: Kinship Summer Series is specifically for grandparents and family caregivers raising children when the biological parent is unable or unwilling to do so. Provides an opportunity for caregivers to connect with others in a similar situation and cope with the added stress of parenting again. Helps caregivers to increase their knowledge and skills about community resources and programs that are available. Helps caregivers to build resiliency tools they can use in their daily lives. Each day of Kinship Summer Series offers an educational component for caregivers which features 2 expert guest presenters from a local community agencies on topics including education, mental health, permanency and support, legal issues, health and wellness, and caregiver self-care.
